Delhi: In view of rising hostilities with Pakistan, the Delhi government has cancelled all staff leaves with immediate effect, citing emergency preparedness amid Indo-Pak tensions. An official order issued by the Services Department Thursday evening stated that no leave will be granted until further notice.
District magistrates have begun reviewing disaster and health response readiness across the capital. Emergency drills, supply checks, and coordination meetings are underway.
The move follows India’s Operation Sindoor strikes on terror camps in Pakistan, and Pakistan’s retaliatory drone and missile attempts across Jammu, Punjab, and Rajasthan. Blackouts, air raid sirens, and an IPL match suspension in Dharamshala highlighted the heightened alert.
Punjab closed schools statewide for three days, with similar steps taken in Panchkula. Gurugram’s closure order is awaited.
Delhi’s response underscores a high-alert posture as emergency preparedness amid Indo-Pak tensions becomes the need of the hour.
