The Delhi High Court has issued notices to Google and online platforms following legal action taken by Aaradhya Bachchan against the spread of false information. The 13-year-old, daughter of Bollywood actors Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan, has moved the court, demanding the removal of misleading content regarding her health and personal life.
According to a report by Bar and Bench, the High Court responded to her plea, seeking a summary judgment on the issue of online misinformation. The matter is now scheduled for its next hearing on March 17, 2025.

Legal Action Against Misinformation on Aaradhya Bachchan
The court has served legal notices to multiple entities, including Google, Bollywood Times, and various online platforms, directing them to take corrective action. This latest development follows a previous ruling in April 2023, where the Delhi High Court took a strong stance against the spread of fabricated news regarding the minor.
During the 2023 proceedings, Justice C Hari Shankar had emphasized that every child has the right to dignity and privacy and that spreading misleading or defamatory content, particularly about a minor’s health, is “entirely unacceptable in law.”
Court’s Directives on Misinformation About Aaradhya Bachchan
In its 2023 ruling, the Delhi High Court had ordered Google to:
- Take down misleading videos falsely claiming Aaradhya Bachchan was critically ill or deceased.
- Disclose details of the content creators responsible for spreading false narratives.
- Ensure prompt removal of future misleading content related to Aaradhya Bachchan.

Additionally, the central government was instructed to implement measures to restrict access to such misinformation, reinforcing the regulatory framework governing digital platforms.
This latest legal action underscores the ongoing battle against misinformation, especially concerning minors and public figures, and highlights the legal responsibility of online platforms to curb the spread of unverified claims.
