The much-awaited Kumbh Mela 2025 is set to revolutionize the pilgrimage experience with a new, tech-forward approach to ticketing. For the first time, the Indian Railways is introducing a Kumbh Mela 2025 Digital Ticketing system that utilizes QR codes for easy, contactless access. This initiative promises to streamline the journey of millions of devotees and make their pilgrimage smoother and more efficient.
QR Code Jackets for Volunteers
In a bid to make the entire event more accessible and organized, the Railway authorities will deploy officials at the Prayagraj region, adorned in fluorescent green jackets featuring QR codes. Pilgrims can scan these QR codes to access the Unreserved Ticketing System (UTS) app, which allows them to book tickets digitally without waiting in long queues. This system will be available on the UTS mobile app, ensuring that the millions of visitors can book their tickets instantly and travel hassle-free.
The Railway authorities are also gearing up for an unprecedented number of trains during the Kumbh Mela 2025. More than 10,000 regular trains and an additional 3,000 special trains will be operating to accommodate the millions of visitors who flock to the sacred sites.
The Mahakumbh Railway App and Portal
Further enhancing the Kumbh Mela 2025 Digital Ticketing experience is the launch of the Mahakumbh Railway Service 2025 app and portal. These platforms will provide essential information about train schedules, guest house availability, and emergency helplines. Pilgrims will also find details about more than 28 guesthouses with a combined capacity of 130,000, ensuring that the accommodation for devotees is taken care of.
For real-time assistance, a toll-free helpline has already been activated, offering multilingual support. This includes customer service in languages such as Odia, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, and Bengali, ensuring that no pilgrim is left stranded due to language barriers. Starting January 2025, the helpline will operate 24×7, providing continuous support to all visitors.
A Tech-Savvy Pilgrimage Experience
As India’s largest religious gathering, the Kumbh Mela has always been a massive logistical challenge.
